The 9th annual artsHOP weekend will be celebrated on Anna Maria Island on November 13, 14 and 15th. Friday night festivities include an ArtWalk from 5-8 PM in Holmes Beach and Anna Maria City. Many ArtWalk locations will offer refreshments, "chance" baskets, art demonstrations, live music and a chance to meet the artists.

The ArtWalk will continue on Sunday in Bradenton Beach and coincide with the Bridge Street Market. Please stay tuned for information on the Bradenton Beach "Turtle Hunt"

“L” is Lois Manza, proprietor, teacher and beaded jewelry artist . Come to this gift shop for her one of a kind beaded creations and watch her at work creating exotic bead patterns in necklaces and bracelets. She offers classes for individual and groups, as well as offering beading supplies.

Teresa Burgess, the proprietor, has a background in buying, and an eye for the new and unique. Her shop features women’s clothing, house hold gifts, and toiletries - all with that island flair. Come and meet Artist Kim Darnell, one of the artists featured in Saltair. Stop by for refreshments and some great gift choices.

Joey and Chris Dale are the chefs who bring outstanding dinning to this community. Known for their seafood, steaks, innovative pasta dishes and hand tossed pizza, they are also celebrating their totally remodeled restaurant which complements the fine food. Craft and micro brew beer as well as wine is available. Artists Jim Dohn and Joan Voyles have art on display. Stop by and see the new look!

This shop features gift and home decor items and the art work of a number of local artists. They include: Judy Titsworth, Robert Johnson, Kelly Burdette and Mark Burdette, Jean Murray, Kevin Webb, and more! Live demonstrations will be happening during the art walk.

SteamDesigns is a digital arts studio specializing in high-end giclée prints — up to five feet wide — for artists and photographers. The studio also provides graphic design services and full-service advertising production for many island and island-area businesses, as well as some national clients. Owners Frank and Melissa Williams have 50 years combined experience in the art of reproduction, capturing, creating and color grading. During artsHOP, patrons are welcome to stop by for some “lite bites and a sip of Sangria”, along with a taste of some of their clients’ work on display and on sale.

Bev Lesnick hosts a friendly place for good coffee and refreshments. Starting in the early morning, it’s a great place to gather and share conversations with locals and visitors alike. The shop will be open late for the art walk. Stop by to see the art work of a featured artist. Music will add to the cozy ambiance.

The Artists’ Guild of Anna Maria Island is the oldest visual arts organization on Anna Maria Island. Established in 1989, this 150-plus-member nonprofit supports art education, and sponsors the Artists' Guild Gallery with over 50 artists creations and gifts on display. The artsHOP theme display in the Gallery window will be “Ode to Anna Maria Island.” Bill Buchman will be playing jazz and the Privateer Pirates will be there grooving to the music. Our gallery will be known as "Turtle Central" and gallery artists will lead a campaign to free "Herman the Turtle", being held for ransom by the Privateers. All "Free Herman" donations will go to the AMI Turtle Watch program. Come for the music, refreshments and sharing the fun with our neighbor, The Restless Natives. Help us "Free Herman"!!!

This is the site of a nonprofit arts organization with over twenty five years of history on the island. They sponsor Winterfest and Springfest, the annual juried art shows. Classes and exhibits continue throughout the year. Check their web site for listings. Each month, in season, an exhibit is created with different themes and a reception is given with awards to participating artists. The artsHOP exhibit theme is “Sea Life & Island Shore”.. A reception and announcement of awards will occur during the artsHOP artwalk.

GRACIELA GILES, Bradenton Watercolor Artist, exhibits “Poetry in Color” as November artsHOP Featured Artist at Island Gallery West. Ms. Giles’ love of the natural world is apparent in her colorful style of painting local scenes. Her award-winning art has become very popular over the many years she has painted in Bradenton and on Anna Maria Island. Her month-long exhibit will be highlighted by a public reception on Friday, November 13, 5-8 PM, as part of the Island-wide 9th annual artsHOP event. Many of the Gallery’s artists will be on hand to greet visitors with refreshments and live music by popular local musician Chip Ragsdale. A raffle for a basket full of Island Gallery West art will be offered.

This jewelry and gift shop, also part of the Green Village, is located in an historic building that was moved over an inlet as part of its journey to its “Village” location. Steve Traves, proprietor, shares his love of outdoor activities with large equipment such as kayaks contrasted with fly fishing items, clothing and gear. Special guest, Rusty Chinnis of Longboat Key is an award winning outdoor photographer, writer and US Coast Guard Licensed Captain. The sportswriter and photographer will be there in person, for conversations with other sports enthusiasts during the Friday Art Walk. His nature photographs will be on display and available for purchase. Come join us and be part of the conversation!

503 Pine Avenue - Anna Maria
This store is the hub of the award winning environmentally friendly Green Village cluster of shops. Grocery items such as milk as and a special selection of fine wines and beer can be found here. Sandwiches are custom made for carry out ,or can be enjoyed while sitting outside on the deck. Art work by Judy Strom, Ron Bernard photography and paintings by Bob Brown are included in the charm of this “General Store.” Come to see the special things happening “On the Deck” for artsHOP art walk -- for instance the sculpture "Providentia". It is about 4 feet high and a bronze. It is meant to channel positive energy to those around it and to dispel and negate negative energy. Come see for yourself!

Cindy Tutterow is shop owner and baker extraordinaire. She makes special occasion desserts, such as wedding cakes. Her cookies, scones and cakes are always a tasty experience. Cindy’s Coconut Key Lime cake has a huge number of fans. Single slices are options so one can try a variety of her signature cakes. This bakery is part of the “Green Village.”

Joyce Lazzara is an accomplished island artist with a selection of tropical paintings on display. This small but elegant gallery features select jewelry by other artists and paintings including art and photography by Cayman Lazzara. During the art walk, stop by for refreshments while watching a painting demonstration in this gallery in the Green Village cluster of shops.

Rebecca Preston and Dan Novi are artists with a unique store of items for both adults and children, some of which feature their custom designed art. Painting a sand dollar is an ongoing activity for the family. Hibiscus Margarita’s and more will be there during the art walk.

This family owned salon is one of two on the island. As a full service salon and spa featuring Bumble and Bumble products, they provide care to not only local residents and also those essential services for Anna Maria Island wedding parties. Their creativity extends to special styling for artsHOP that includes using “lights!” Come by and see what magic will be happening here during the art walk on Friday.

Laura Shely, the proprietor, is a silversmith artist with her studio workplace in the shop. Stop by and see her newest signature designs - some of which feature Anna Maria Island. Emerson Quillan, the artist and proprietor, has a store filled with original paintings, cards, prints and clothing that features his signature “Emerson’s Humor” line drawings of ladies and snappy comments. This is both a store and his studio. Come and chuckle with the art that is known far beyond Anna Maria Island.

This is the first and the original, of four popular “Poppo’s” in the Manatee County area. The Coleman family introduced the San Francisco inspired menu, serving organic, antibiotic/hormone free food that is assembled based on choices that include vegetarian options. A wide selection of craft beer is available. Meet creative furniture artist, Mark Nodeen, 390 Design. He makes the custom furniture for all the Poppos Taquerias, as well as for the Pine Avenue General Store. On display will be more of his unique creations.

Tommy and Julie Fagen administer the shows at this outstanding gallery opened by Rhea Chiles, the former first lady of Florida. In addition to displaying changing exhibits, the facility hosts special events such as weddings, receptions and other special gatherings. The Studio Gulf and Pine will be having a special art show of the National League of American Pen Women with several art demonstrations and book signings. Refreshments will be served.

Proprietor Sarah Michel delights in showing her tropical beachwear such as handprinted sarongs for wear and home decor for women and tropical shirts for men. Artists have designed the gem stone jewelry, you can find AMI decals and other gifts including piano wire hair clips.

Bridgette Kubin, the new proprietor of this gift shop, considers herself to be a “business artist.” “My goal is to have my boutique represent both local Floridian artist as well as artists from around the world. Jan and Mark Labriola are new owners of this hot spot on the island. In addition to dinning inside or out on the deck, there is a wide selection of beers and an emphasis on music. Check the web site for the schedule of musicians and a Sunday morning happening. During the artwalk, stop by for the “blues music,” glass blowing and henna tattoos. Artist Bob Brown has an ongoing display of art for sale.

Connect with Gayden Shell, master photographer and proprietor of the unusual, at her new location for the Lot right on Bridge Street. Stop by Sea-renity to truly “see the sea”in the original coastal wood art and watercolors by co-owner Kelly Daszynski of sky30 art studio. The Eco Boutique will serve refreshing cucumber water while showing a gulf-inspired collection of artisan soaps, candles and jewelry. The work of a dozen different artists are represented, in addition to the art of relaxation offered by the beach spa.

The free Bridge Street Sunday Market kicks off it’s season during artsHOP with a Taste of Bridge Street. Local restaurants will offer tastes of their most popular dishes for a small fee right at the market. Hoppers can experience the art of rock & roll with Ted Stevens & the Doo Shots, the art of touch with chair massage, and the art of flavor with fresh produce and prepared foods. Among the 30 + market vendors this week are Rhonda K, native Florida Folk Artist, Nick Donatelli, beach and nature photographer, and Mary Roff, jewelry artisan.

By wheels to water Segs by the Sea / Adventure Away shares the art of motion. Chill out on the porch with fresh lemonade and take your turn on a Segway or Pedgo Electric Bicycle. Local artist Shelby Counihan created our Public Art Turtle and her distinctive graphics are on t-shirts and tanks available for sale. Hoppers will get discount coupons for segways, bikes, scooters and golf carts.

Bridge Tender Inn will be showcasing the art of the cocktail. Order your favorite tropical libation and take a look at our murals. Many murals have been created by our own hard-working wait staff over the past few years and Rhonda K, Native Florida Folk Artist, has just added to our collection with a new piece facing Bridge Street.
Our customers arrive by land, by sea, by bike, to relax under the tree at our tiki bar, on the front porch or inside at the Packer bar. Bridge Tender will also be participating in a Taste of Bridge Street at the Bridge Street Market during the Art Walk.
