Island Players is celebrating their 65th year and have a very special place in the culture of Anna Maria Island.
Island Players is the oldest community theater in Manatee County. The playhouse, a building of great historical Island significance, was originally the home of the William H. Gillett family of Parrish and was floated down the Manatee River by barge in the early 1900's to Anna Maria Island.
In April of 2009, the Anna Maria Island Historical Society awarded the theater with a preservation plaque of distinction and thanked the Island Players for maintaining such an important Island landmark.
The Off Stage Ladies always seem to come up with something during intermission! Join in the fun and celebration of our Island Players 65th year.
